Women’s empowerment in recycling fashion for economic, environmental sustainability sought
ISLAMABAD, Feb 14 (APP): The Prime Minister’s Coordinator for Climate Change, Romina Khurshid Alam highlighted the significance of engaging women in sustainable industries, particularly in the area of recycling fashion. She called for the need to generating opportunities women’s involvement in the recycling fashion sector, which can contribute more to the promotion of environmental sustainability, women’s economic empowerment and job creations. “By integrating women into industries such as recycling and sustainable fashion, we can build a greener economy while lifting up women and ensuring their contributions are recognized,” she remarked. In a meeting with the Ambassador of Sweden, Alexandra Berg von Linde, who called on her at MoCC&EC, Romina Khurshid Alam assured her all-out shared support in addressing the intersection of gender equality and climate resilience with national and international stakeholers. The Swedish ambassador lauded the present government’s role in women empowerment and fight agaist climate change and assured her country’s every possible support in this regard.
